The famous Wayback Machine or Internet Archive, archiving world wide web from 2001 is blocked by Indian Government. The Wayback Machine stored more than 300 billion web pages that’s about 15TB of data and which is now inaccessible through selected ISPs.

The government does not give any explanation about such sudden ban only the users of BSNL, Airtel, and Hathway broadband have reported the block of Wayback Machine, other ISP users can still able to access the website.

Officer Manager of Wayback Machine Chris Butler said: ” Government of India have not contacted us regarding blocking of archiver.org  and we have no information why block has been implemented”.
